ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering program is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a program-specific accrediting agency in India. It was among the first few programs which were reviewed by the Washington Accord Officials for according permanent membership to India. The number of graduates from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering program has reached more than 1300 by 2019-20. The inputs from alumni, feedback from industry and professional bodies are used to continuously update the curriculum with courses that are relevant to engineering practice.

Intake:
Mumbai - 30 seats

Program Duration: 4 years

Unique Features of the Program:

  • The B. Tech. program in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering offered by the Mukesh Patel School of Technology, Management and Engineering, NMIMS University, Mumbai provides studies in key technical areas such as digital communication techniques, information theory, electronic design and high-frequency techniques.
  • Besides a solid math science/engineering education, the student can improve its skills tailoring the course to his requirements by choosing among a number of optional modules in application fields such as IoT, Embedded Systems, Networking, Communication, Control Systems, Microwave and Antenna, Basic Electronics and Signal & Image Processing.

Program Constituencies:

The following are the program constituencies, which guide on the inputs, delivery and outcomes of the program:

  1. Faculty
  2. Employers
  3. Alumni

Faculty are the owners of the program curriculum and are the guardians of the quality of dispensed knowledge. Their overall input and governance define the educational objectives of the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering program.

Employers come to the campus every year to interview students who are graduating. The Placement Cell has an active recruitment process for graduates. Most students seeking employment would have accepted positions by the time they graduate. The employers tend to view graduates as "industry ready” and have an inherent interest in their quality as well as the quality of students progressing through the program.

The alumni are loyal members of the extended family of NMIMS. While they maintain a fond connection with the institution and its people, they also have the needed separation to evaluate the program objectively. NMIMS alumni interact with the program coordinators, DAB, BOS members as well as faculty members and provide advice about changes to be made to improve the program.
