LIBRARY

MPSTME library stands at the heart of the Institute, facilitating teaching-learning, research and extension programs of the Institute. Conveniently located on the ground floor, the well-furnished and air-conditioned library is spread over 2,494 square feet. The library takes pride in stocking all classic as well as updated volumes alongside the most prestigious journals and publications in the field of Technology and Management. The immersive silence in the library reading area resonates with the quickening of young minds with new knowledge and often poignant questions that provides the stimulus for research and discovery.

The MPSTME library stays true to its mission of facilitation and  creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization, and dissemination of knowledge resources through regular updating and  providing value added services. The library is fully automated with KOHA software. Users can login freely, high-speed Wi-Fi network to access the e-resources. Web-OPAC which is currently on the intranet gives detailed information about library books. Users can find out the real-time availability of library materials from their own computer terminals. The library has an open access system facilitating the free use of materials on the shelves.

It has a rich collection of books predominantly related to management, engineering and allied subjects and periodicals (National / International), audio-visual materials as well as e-resource. The library offers a number of innovative information services like Table of Content Service (TOC), New arrivals, Plagiarism check, Orientation and Bibliographic service.

  • All students who have joined the institute as a regular student can get membership in the library and only bonafide members will be allowed, to access the library facility on the production of valid Identity cards.
  • Members must carry their identity cards to gain entry and use the library and must produce it when required to do so by the authorized person. The card must be used only by the authorized member. 
  • The member can borrow two books at a time for a period of 10 days. If books are not in demand, they can renew for a further period of 10 more days. Requests for renewal must be received on or before the due date. Fine of Rs. 3.00 per day per book is levied on overdue books. 
  • Reference books, Journals, Magazines, and Audio/Video materials are strictly used in the library only.
  • A member shall not write upon, damage, or mark any book belonging to the library. 
  • A member is responsible for any damage caused by him/her to the books or any other property belonging to the library, shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon him/her by the library authority.
  • The security person at the library gate will check all personal belongings including library books issued to a member.
  • Silence is maintained in the reading hall. Loud conversation, standing in groups, discussions, etc. are forbidden. The use of mobile phones in the library is prohibited. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine or exclusion from the library. 
  • All library users are requested to observe the proper dress code. Members wearing short pants/Bermuda etc. will not be allowed inside the library. Users should leave their bags and other belongings including personal books/issued books (except money and other valuables) in the property counter outside the library. Notepapers/notebooks/laptops will be allowed inside the library. The library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings. 
  • The library follows the Open Access System. Students can take books from the stack for browsing through them. They should leave such books on the tables and not shelve them. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
  • The readers should check the books before borrowing to ensure that these are not damaged. If a book is found to be damaged or certain pages are missing, the borrower should get this statement recorded on the book, otherwise, he/she shall be held responsible for the damage, discovered at the time of returning the books. 
  • The loss of books must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged until the loss of the book is reported. If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
  • The library is not responsible for the loss or damage to any personal property or valuables left within library premises. Please do not leave money, wallets, headphones, mobile, iPad, and other valuable items unattended.     
  • Smoking, pan chewing, eatables, and spitting except a bottle of drinking water in the library are prohibited. 
  • Photography is not allowed.
  • Membership privileges of a user can be suspended on account of misbehaviour or misuse of the library. 
  • Members should keep in mind the copyright issues while copying any material borrowed from the library.
