STUDENT RESEARCH AND MENTORING

The School believes that an inquisitive mind and a thirst for knowledge prompted by questions often lead to innovations that help humanity take huge leaps. Thereby, student research is highly encouraged and fostered through appointing Faculty mentors/guides for all the students at MPSTME.  Students are mentored for their curricular as well as extracurricular projects.  Faculty with strong research background help in inculcating interest in research and in keeping the students updated with the latest technology.

Student research activities in various competitions

  • A team of 6 students (Mit Vaidya, Ishan Sonavane, Mihir Joshi, Ravi Teja Malladi, Kriti Singh and Isha Tawde) and Prof. Sawankumar Naik, Mentor from SVKM's NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering selected and participated bagged two awards " System Safety" and "Best Designer Report" along with prize money of $250 in (NASA's 3rd Human exploration rover challenge competition held at U.S. Space & Rocket Centre, Huntsville, Alabama, USA on 8th and 9th April 2016.
  • Divyansh Gupta, student of MBA(Tech.) EXTC 4th year representing MPSTME - NMIMS, has won the 3rd prize in the finals of the national talent hunt.
  • A world renowned 154-year-old organization of American Society of Civil of Engineers which has spread in about 150 countries in the world has organized a competition for the Engineering Students worldwide with a theme of sustainability. Only two teams are contesting from India, one of which is a team 'Technocrats-2016'of 22 students of Department of Civil Engineering of MPSTME, Mumbai, of NMIMS University.
  • NMIMS' Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering has produced the Global Winners of the Google Online Marketing Challenge for the year 2015. More than 1700 teams from across the globe participated in the challenge.
  • Under the guidance of Prof. Shilpa Sawant, the team of Saumil Tripathi, Shreeyash Dharmadhikari, Jainam Talsania, Jelam Bhatt and and Agastya Sanjai, in their second year, pursuing MBA -Tech, have become the First Indian Team to have won the Global AdWords Business Awards since GOMC's inception.
  • 13th Annual MATE ROV International Competition – 2014: Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE)underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION – 2014 was held at Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary Alpena, MI, USA from 26th to 28th June, 2014 TEAM SCREWDRIVERS of MPSTME, NMIMS is the only team from India participating in this program under the guidance of Prof. Sawan Kumar Naik. The team won "Aloha Team Spirit Award" - the first Award for India at the Competition
  • Mohak Bhatia,student of 3rd year MBA(Tech.) course, among thousands of students across India, emerged as one of the 6 grand finalists of the RB Mavericks Case Challenge
  • Chinmay Kale, Mr. Akshay Kanakia and Mr. Shreyas Kadloor, students of MBA(Tech) Chemical, 3rd year received 1st prize in the event called "Industry Defined Problem" held at Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly known as UDCT).
  • Mangalam Sahai, Mr. Advait Swamy and Mr. Asif Zaman, students from MBA (Tech) Chemical, 2nd year, received 3rd Prize in event called "Jr - Industry Defined Problem" held at Institute of Chemical Technology.

Joint Research Program

  • 3 student teams (Vidhi Kapoor, Rishabh Reddy and Rishabh Singh) from MPSTME - under the mentor-ship of Prof. Prathamesh Churi have done research collaboration with Cerebranium- A tech company from Europe for academic research on data analysis for the period of 3 months.
