Objectives
- A field survey for the identification of plants having possible potential medicinal value with the help of tribal communities at Achanakmar-Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, India.
- Identify antiviral, anti-fungal and antibacterial activity of all collected ethnomedicines as per standard laboratory procedure.
- Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based mobile app for a smart database of all plants, which will be useful for automated species identification of medicinal plant.
Issues Involved
- Knowledge transfer is oral, not documented.
- Younger generations are less interested due to modern education, industrialization, and migration.
- Elders who possess this knowledge are aging, and much information may be lost permanently.
