Objectives
  1. A field survey for the identification of plants having possible potential medicinal value with the help of tribal communities at Achanakmar-Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, India.
  2. Identify antiviral, anti-fungal and antibacterial activity of all collected ethnomedicines as per standard laboratory procedure.
  3. Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based mobile app for a smart database of all plants, which will be useful for automated species identification of medicinal plant.
Issues Involved
  1. Knowledge transfer is oral, not documented.
  2. Younger generations are less interested due to modern education, industrialization, and migration.
  3. Elders who possess this knowledge are aging, and much information may be lost permanently.
