The academic year runs from July to April with a two month summer break in May and June. The year comprises of two semesters: July to November and November to April. Throughout the year students organize and participate in a range of events and competitions alongside academic learning. Assessment in each semester is continuous and includes mid-term tests and a term end exam.
In the year 2006, Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering was officially inaugurated as the engineering and technology management school under NMIMS Deemed to be University.
