B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering students Mr. Ayaan Sayyed, Mr. Granth Mehta, Mr. Panav Shah, and Mr. Jash Jain (Semester IX), under the mentorship of Dr. Ravi Terkar, Professor, Mechanical Department, had the honor of representing Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) at the IEEE YESIST12 2025 Grand Finale in Malaysia for the project competition.
From over 1,000 global submissions, their project—an Expandable Wheel-Leg Hybrid Robot—was selected for the prestigious Maker Fair track, providing an exceptional opportunity to showcase their innovation on an international stage.
The team’s work drew enthusiastic praise from event chairs, organizers, and fellow participants, with comments such as “I had never even thought of this problem—it’s amazing that you built this at such a young age” and “The prototype demonstration was so cool!” They also received insightful suggestions, including integrating soil-monitoring features and exploring a four-wheeled design.
This exposure to a vibrant community of innovators from around the world proved immensely rewarding and inspiring. Special thanks to Dean Prof. Koteswararao Anne for his constant support and motivation throughout the competition.
