Dr. Sudipto Sarkar is presently working as Director of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.
He has done his Bachelor of Engineering from NIT Durgapur, M.Tech. with Honours from IIT(BHU) Varanasi and Doctorate from IIT Kanpur.
Dr. Sarkar has 22 years of teaching and research experience, among which, for the last 16+ years, he has been working in Academic and Administrative Leadership positions. Prior to joining NMIMS, he has worked in different Academic Administrative positions, such as Professor & Dean, Sushant University; Professor & Dean – NSHM Knowledge Campus, Durgapur; Professor & Division Chair of Thermal and Automobile, Galgotias University and HOD – Mechanical Engineering Department, G L Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management.
Dr. Sarkar has published many research papers in international and national journals and conferences and has patents and book chapters. He has also successfully completed the prestigious AICTE-UKIERI ‘Technical Leadership Development Program’ for the AY 2019-2020, a joint initiative by India & UK Governments to train Technical leaders for future India.
Dr. Sarkar was conferred several awards and recognitions for his contribution in Higher Education. Few of them are, Distinguished Leadership in Institutional Development award at Higher Education Innovation and Technology Summit, Pune (2025); Best Dean Award at 2nd World Education & EdTech, Delhi (2023); Leading Educationist of India by DK International Research Foundation (2018).
Dr. Sarkar’s vision is to excel the Nation’s Private Higher Education as per the Global standard.
